March 18, 1934 — Halle an der Saale, Germany

Kai Fischer (born Kai Anne Inge Fischer, March 18, 1934 or 1936, in Prague or Halle (Saale)) is a German film actress and author.

She began her career in the mid-1950s without formal acting training and quickly became known for portraying seductive and morally ambiguous characters, frequently appearing in crime films and Edgar Wallace adaptations such as Zimmer 13 (1964). In the early 1960s she created and starred in Die Karte mit dem Luchskopf (1963–1965), becoming television’s first female private detective with her own agency.

From the 1970s onward, Fischer successfully transitioned into more serious film and television roles, including appearances in works by Wim Wenders and popular crime series such as Derrick and Der Kommissar. In addition to acting, she worked as a screenwriter and crime novelist and later became a business owner in Munich.
